1. Sound and Fury’s music has a lot of AC/DC and punk rock in it. Do you see the band’s sound more hard rock or punk?
LUCAS: Actually I think its both. All the guys in the band love AC/DC, Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Misfits, but also stuff like Black Sabbath. So I hear both the punk and hard rock in the music. We are all huge fans of 1970's rock and punk.
2. What newer bands have you been compared to. Like maybe Airbourne?
LUCAS: Well AC/DC of course. Sex Pistols. We are a straight ahead hard rock/punk band who likes to party. That’s what we are about, both our attitude and our lyrics.
3. Why the name Sound and Fury?
LUCAS: My teacher one day was writing on the board and she wrote down those two words and I thought that would be an awesome name for a band.
4. How long has the band been recording and touring?
LUCAS: We have only been together for two years and already are releasing our self titled debut album. We have been lucky and gained a lot of fans pretty quickly to get us to the point of recording an album already.
5. Have Sound and Fury been part of any major tours yet with big name acts?
LUCAS: Yeah we toured with Sum 41 in Feb and March of this year. That was awesome.
6. Who are your influences as a singer?
LUCAS: Bon Scott from AC/DC is a big one, Johnny Rotten from the Sex Pistols, Billy Idol, Lemmy from Motorhead. I have always been influenced by straight ahead hard rock/punk singers.
7. What has been more beneficial to advertising the band, touring or Myspace?
LUCAS: Touring definitely. But you know with technology and Myspace you can reach so many people and get the word out to build your fan base for when you tour. Myspace allows the people to listen to your music. If people like the music then most likely they will come and see you play. Myspace is a great way of communicating to your fans all around the world.
8. Who would you say are your top five hard rock bands of all time?
LUCAS: AC/DC, Dead Boys, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, and maybe Led Zepplin.
9. Is image and fashion important to the band?
LUCAS: I like to think we have our own style. The guys express their own style with their clothes but fashion or like a uniform is really not a part of Sound and Fury.
10. What are this years touring plans?
LUCAS: Tours with Less Than Jake/Goldfinger in the States in July, Airbourne in Canada in August and Airbourne in the UK and Europe in November.
11. You shot a video for the song “18”. Tell us about that.
LUCAS: We shot it in an abandoned police station. We got wasted, it was a lot of fun. Just a straight ahead killer performance video with a lot of energy. It should give you a good idea of what we are like on stage really.
