Heavy metal icons Black Sabbath kicked off their 2013 reunion tour last night (April 19th) at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand.
Frontman Ozzy Osbourne, bassist Geeezer Butler, guitarist Tony Iommi and Tommy Clufetos (Ozzy Osbourne) stormed through a set of classic material and played two songs from the new album, "13": 'End Of The Beginning' and the first single 'God Is Dead?'.

Now available for the very first time on DVD, this live show was filmed across two sold-out nights at Birmingham N.E.C Arena, UK in November 1988 during the band's Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son World Tour. Disc one contains the concert which has been specially upgraded and extended from the existing 1989 longform VHS release and now includes three previously unreleased encores: 'Running Free', 'Run To The Hills' and 'Sanctuary' thereby completing the full concert with a total running time of 110 minutes.

Here is a condensed list of some of the events that are planned for the first half of this year. 2013 is going to be a very busy and intensely productive year ahead, it seems. We will start off with a two-day Sky Academy in Los Angeles, at the Santa Monica Playhouse, January 21/22. This is a beautiful, intimate theatre, where we held one of the previous Sky Academies of which we all have fond memories. I'm looking forward to being there again!

According to an update from Stryper, the band starts pre production for a brand new, all original full length album in March. It will be released in 2013.
Frontiers Records has signed Stryper to a multi album deal. The first release due out will be a new re-recorded collection; "Second Coming" will hit streets on March 22nd in Europe and March 26th in North America.

The Metal Alliance Tour is back for their third ferocious year of wrecking heads. Festival organizers Dan Rozenblum and Steve Seabury of High River Entertainment have announced Anthrax as their 2013 headliner. The band will be performing their fan favorite 1987 classic, "Among The Living", in it's entirety. The album was produced by Eddie Kramerand includes the tracks 'Caught In A Mosh', 'Indians' and 'I Am The Law'.
