This video is a documentary spotlighting various artists in the field both from legends like Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Testament, Destruction, Dio, and the always entertaining Lemmy from Motorhead to newer crushers Witchery (one of my favorite), In Flames, and The Haunted. We get a nice retrospective look of the legendary “Thrash of the Titans” benefit concert for Chuck Billy, the late Chuck Schuldner and a tribute to another well respected, energetic frontman Paul Baloff from Exodus.

The video and sound quality is very good with a little performance footage included for each artist interviewed. Each artist featured gets several minutes to speak about what their place is in the metal world with very honest opinions on the world around them.
One thing that is evident in many of the artists is their need to have fun without overlooking the need to be serious about the music and musicianship behind the madness heard. Things are taken with a “grain of salt”.
Power and passion are, and have always been the major ingredient for metal and is expressed for example by Rob Halford and Ronnie James Dio. Also, avoiding the current “trends” and “fads” in music is a dirty word for the real Metalmaniacs (as Halford famously always sais).
Another aspect that is included is the world of Horror/Scifi that parallels the metal community. Most would not think to include such material on a music documentary but the good people at Metallian Productions are obviously true metalheads and know their shit. For this segment none other than special effects wizard Tom Savini who worked on such landmark films “Friday the 13th” and “Day of the Dead” is featured. Metal and Monsters go hand in hand.
