Gizmachi – The Imbuing

Label: Big Orange Clown Records/Sanctuary
Format: CD
Released: 2005
Reviewed By: Rich Catino

Someone should just start labeling bands of this kind Ozzfest second stagers, and Gizmachi just got confirmed for the fest’s second stage for 2005. All this stuff has the same problem, vocals are soo boring and monotone, verses are yelled and the chorus, if there is one, is lifeless. Clown #6, as he is called in Slipknot, is the founder of Gizmachi’s record label Big Orange Clown Records, and chose this to be the labels inaugural release, figures. Gizmachi is just as noisey as Slipknot, this stuff will surely appeal to younger ears who are just looking for another band they can call “metal” just because they make angry music with heavy guitars. This is the stuff that gets recognized in the States for Ozzfest???

I don’t know why I am posing this as a question because it figures at this point. Blind Guardian or Nightwish can’t even get a slot and they should be on the mainstage on top of it. That’s just wrong. I feel bad for all the people who are naïve enough to listen to this stuff just because the band is put on Ozzfest or some moron in popular rock press considers this good.
