This album hits you like a tornado ripping through a house containing nothing but saws and sharp objects within. Traditional black metal arrangements are present throughout the album mixed with pummeling death metal sounds like a freight train rumbling down the tracks mixed with some sick old school Slayer guitar riffs "Hell Awaits" era. The formula is a winner and deserves a spot in the heavy metal cookbook. ‘Genocide’ is easily the best song on the album reminding me of ‘The Preacher’ by Testament with its heavy as all hell opening. This track will send emo kids running for their lives.
The vocals throughout this album leave a sting like a demon’s kiss. ‘Venom of Mankind’ is a great first track to shoot a promo video for. I would love to see this air on MTV’s Headbangers Ball.
If you like your metal in the style of Behemoth, 1349, Marduk, Immortal and Satyricon as well as arrangements in the vein of Testament and Slayer which I don’t see why you shouldn’t this is for you. American fans will fall into a state of shock the first time this band plays here. I hope it is sooner than later because a lot of these death and black metal packages are getting stale. The Deviant would be the perfect opener for either of the upcoming shows at BB Kings with Emperor and Immortal. Round 1 from this band was a total knockout can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next time.
