When was the last time you heard old school style thrash in the vein of the San Francisco Bay Area? Bands that come to mind; Exodus and Testament, Dark Angel, to lesser knowns Hirax and Laaz Rockit to namely in this case Vio –Lence and Evil Dead when it comes to Germany’s Holy Moses. This band has been around for twenty years playing 80’s style thrash with Sabina their female fronted vocalist, yes that’s right they have a female singer but you would never know it given her manly tone and delivery. Vocals are very reminiscent of band’s like Vio-Lence and Laaz Rockit where little to no variety can be heard in the voice as its rough and simple working within one range and style.

The music is standard 80’s combination thrash/speed metal, average song length is a little over three and a half minutes, as you get faster songs mixed with mid paced headbangers and pit rousers like ‘Blood Sucker’, ‘Guns n Moses’. Something like ‘Diabolic Plot’ starts off with a bass line followed by chunky riffs and average paced drums is a staple of the genre, and a good tune at that. Even features some slide guitar work for something different.

This reissuing of their 1990 release contains the title track recorded live from the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany from 2003 and ‘Too Drunk to Fuck’ from the said fest in 05 and 01 with Doro Pesch (Warlock) joining them.
