The radio lately is flooded with a surplus of hard rock and metal bands like Atreyu, Three Days Grace, and Seether among others who do not really bring anything special to the table or stand out in anyway that makes me remember them except that when I hear their name I turn the station. Now here comes an awesome band from Sweden called Fatal Smile. This is their second album and it kicks serious ass. There is no whining, complaining, bitching or any trace of what I hear on American radio. These guys play kick ass rock n roll with a punch the way it is meant to be. There is no one set direction which keeps things interesting and makes you wonder what turn they are going to take next.

“Quiet Chaos” has a very doomy vibe to it bringing early 70’s Black Sabbath to mind. H.B. Anderson in this song even sounds a touch like Ozzy at times. “Practice What You Preach” is one of the heavier tunes on the album with some killer guitar work from Y, the bands guitarist. “Color Blind” is my favorite tune on the album as it offers a great message which is about being anti racist. The lyrics suggest we should all be color blind to find out that we are all just the same. How great is that? Kudos to Fatal Smile for delivering such an awesome message especially in a world filled with so much negativity. Overall this album is definitely worth checking out and these guys deserve more recognition. I would love to hear this played on American radio as it would be quite refreshing.

I can definitely see why these guys are opening tours for the likes of the W.A.S.P. and Dio as they deserve this great exposure to those great audiences. Looking forward to what the future holds for this band because I only see them getting bigger and better.
