Part 80s hard rock glam, part pretty boy band, this Swedish six-piece’s claim to fame (beyond the recent victory in the homeland’s Euro-song contest, the same competition which launched Lordi to international acclaim) is that Hollywood bit player Peter Stormare (Fargo, Big Lebowski, TV’s Prison Break) loved the music so much, he started a label, just to release it! Countrymen Europe are an easy target (particularly Kenny Leckremo’s vocal intonations), but a more accurate description would be countless keyboard laced Sunset Strip acts (think King Kobra) and, to a lesser extent, primitive Bon Jovi. The acoustic tinged ‘Late Night Lady’ (down to the “oh, oh, oh”) recalls Mr. New Jersey. Anyone reminiscing about the MTV days of yore would do well to check out this import, but be aware, mostly about soaring vocals, mid-tempo rhythms and sing-along choruses. Only four of the 13 tunes crack four minutes, with 4:20 ballad ‘Cry’ consuming the most time. Apart from a brief moment on ‘Straight For Your Heart’ not a shredding guitar in the bunch.
