Eclipse was formed in Stockholm in 1999 and released two albums by 2003. After some time off, the two remaining members of the band decided to move forward, and wrote the entire “Are You Ready To Rock” album in just one week. Now back in action with a full line-up, Eclipse is literally ready to rock!

This album serves up some excellent melodic hard rock within its 11 tracks. Erik Martensson’s voice is perfect for this genre of music and gives each song the appropriate level of power and emotion. A bit of Whitesnake influence and solid guitar playing can be heard in ‘Breaking My Heart Again’. Nearly every track is catchy and likeable, such as ‘Million Miles Away’ and ‘Under The Gun’. The final track, ‘Call of the Wild’, is another memorable tune that includes a sweet guitar solo and a short guitar duet.

I’ve recently been looking for some good, new melodic rock, and I now I’ve found it.  If you like bands like Takara, Jaded Heart, JSS – definitely give this a listen, there is plenty to like on this album.
