“Fragile Equality” is the second solo album from Brazilian singer and Angra frontman Edu Falaschi. Like the self titled debut, this second Almah release is not much different from Angra as the opening cut ‘Bird’s of Prey’ is a double bass Euro style power metal rocker. Single/video ‘Beyond Tomorrow’ stands out amongst the crowd with its crunchy riff and solo section, accenting keyboards and quick drum driven chorus. Like with Angra, Edu lets his smooth spirited voice embrace the music to tracks like ‘Magic Flame’, the somber ‘Shades of My Soul’, and ‘Invisible Cage’ which uses more modern guitar riffing (so does ‘Fragile Equality’) complimented by some native instrumentation. The guitar leads are also well utilized capturing and expressing different emotions in the music. I can hear some influence from New Jersey prog masters Symphony X in ‘You’ll Understand’ from the solid tempo changes to the dueling guitars and keys, and its done well.
