Early on, this massive (15 tunes) offering is sort of a blend between Opeth and Nile (minus the ferocity), akin to Mikael Akerfeldt developing an interest in Middle Eastern rhythms and chants. The similarities in the spoken vocal patterns between Akerfeldt and the Orphan’s Kobi Farhi are uncanny.

Progressive, and at times acoustic (native instruments, as well as better known western counterparts: guitar, drums, etc.), the culminating ‘In Thy Never Ending Way (Epilogue)’ employs a smattering of the sounds heard throughout, especially the final minute or so of lone piano and voiceover. Pairing the acoustic ‘His Leaf Shall Not Wither’ next to the first truly aggressive (vocally, as well as musically) piece, the death metal voiced ‘Disciples Of The Sacred Oath II’, provides an interesting dichotomy of these Israelis’ sound.

When ‘New Jerusalem’ gives the mic over to a female singer, the non-traditional, acoustic instrumentation can’t but help recall Blackmore’s Night, not a bad thing in my book. They get political with ‘Barakah’, a bastardized spelling of both the US president and Israel’s Defense Minister (former Prime Minister) names (Barak Obama/Ehu Barak). The word means a spiritual gift from God, although the traditional melodies and clap-along seem targeted at the later, not the former, as the opening words are "Code Word: Elimination." Ironic, since the next track is entitled ‘Code Word: Uprising’.
