The first sound heard is a seductive moan, preceding ‘Hell Ridin’. Later, there’s plenty of Boltendahl’s caustic vocals and not a ballad in sight, just repetitive (to the point of near nausea, in some cases) choruses on the likes of ‘It Ain’t Over Till The Fat Lady Sings’, ‘The Devil Pays The Dues’ or ‘Hero For A Day’. Wah wah guitar opens the mid-tempo bluesy ‘Bloodsucker’. The title track could be stripped down Motorhead, while ‘Down By Law’ is almost countrified. A nitro fuelled ‘Voodoo Woman’ picks the pace up once again.
Certainly must be a low emotional/mental/physical investment on The Reaper’s part. Fun to boot.
