Inhabiting the end of the power metal spectrum that includes progressive leaning acts like Kamelot, Pagan’s Mind and Angra (circa "Fireworks" and "Holy Land"), ‘Ego Pt. 2’ even includes some 70s Hammond accents. There are little tribal/indigenous rhythms/ instrumentation segues between some tracks. ‘Finally Home’ has an AOR pop sensibility not found elsewhere, but at the three minute mark, it breaks into a prog inspired guitar break, before ending with the aforementioned melody. ‘Rising Up To Life’ is a mellow, piano laden ballad, while the closing ‘SSD (Signed Sealed & Delivered)’ opts for acoustic guitar.
Competent, but uninspiring.
