Tigertailz - Bezerk Live… Burnin’ Fuel

The result of 20th anniversary tour for Bezerk album, playedlive, in its chronological entirety, the low budget UK version of Poison (neverliving up to their American counterparts, in terms of debauchery, drink norsongs) add closing covers of ‘Crazy Horses’ (an opt covered andhuge English hit for The Osmonds), as well as Motorhead’s ‘Ace OfSpades’. Time was, no respecting glamsters would embrace Lemmy’screw! Only guitarist Jay Pepper remains from the original line-up (bassistPepsi Tate having succumbed to pancreatic cancer in ‘07), although vocalistKim Hooker came aboard early on.

Like their heroes, the Tigers utilize multi-voices and notjust for choruses (‘Action City’). Lest anyone argue the comparisonto Bret Michaels’ troupe, just try ‘Love Bomb Baby’, averitable Poison outtake! This is an old school live album, complete withaudience raps and instructions ("clap your hands", "Girls,it’s time to put on your dancing shoes", etc.). Never a fan, thisis the first time I’ve heard these glorified pop songs and even in a livecontext, the piano ballad ‘Heaven’ comes across as pointless, especially in 2011. Avoid unless you’re a fan.
