Seven-piece Danish outfit, comprised of both sexes, utilizing traditional instrumentation (bagpipes, whistles, etc.) and native tongue to invoke the Viking spirit. The vocals are of a gruff, pirate ("Argh") variety, though indecipherable. As the label states, "Vanir decided to help man through the power of mead, meat, fornication, and metal!" The title track translates to Saerimner’s flesh and ‘Suttings Mjod’ is Sutting’s mead. Lively folk metal somewhere between Korpiklaani and Alestorm.

The acoustic guitar and fife accompanied party scene ‘Af Braget Æt’ lays the groundwork for the first proper song, a lively piano and accordion ‘Gildet’. The bagpipes of the title track see a more death metal gurgled voice. ‘Holmgang’ is the most straight ahead metallic number, even with the recurrent pipes. A fun-loving, sing-along/drink-along, Renaissance faire soundtrack, albeit a non-English one.
