Former HammerFall guitarist-turned airline pilot Stefan Elmgren utilizes some of his downtime to record these eleven tracks (not to be confused with his Fullstrike solo effort), along with help from his former bandmate/drummer Anders Johansson, Narnia guitarist CJ Grimmark and Mike Andersson (Cloudscape) on vocals. Musically, it’s more progressive than the Hammers, yet still infectious power metal, with a tinge of commercial viability (‘None Of Your Concern’). The lyrical matter of ‘Heart And Soul’ (human rights) isn’t a staple of the metal community, but even rarer, Andersson cops a bluesy Jorn Lande soulfulness on this hard rock tune. The lively ‘Open Your Eyes’ is the album’s strongest, the closing, orchestral keyboard enhanced ‘Into The Cradle’ love ballad rightfully positioned apart from the others, as there’s (thankfully) nothing likeminded.
