Debut from Gothenburg based traditional metallers. Like many of their retro-focused countrymen, they’ve adopted a known quantity (Iron Maiden) as a jumping off point for their originals. Imagine Stryper’s Michael Sweet fronting Eddie’s twin guitar bunch and it comes close to approximating Katana. Well the four letter words in ‘Phoenix On Fire’ would preclude it from actually being Mr. Yellow & Black Attack, but you get the point. Best moment include the head bobbling ‘Living Without Fear’ opener, a bass rumbling, yet poppy, ‘Blade Of Katana’, the infectious chorus laden ‘Heart Of Tokyo’ and likewise upbeat ‘Rebel Ride’. Fun!
