The Gloria Story - Shades Of White

Swedish hard rockers who cop the 70s glam hard rock vibe, each track like a different "cover" version, albeit Gloria Story originals. The opening ‘Valentino’ is reminiscent of Thin Lizzy (‘Waiting For An Alibi’), not just tone, checking the namesake lover and "waiting for me honey". ‘Baby Let The Good Times Roll’ also sports more than a hint of Lynott in the voice and those trademark twin guitar melodies.

Other references include Cheap Trick and the Swedish papers claim they’re, "The bastard sons of The Hellacopters & T-Rex". Big, sing-along choruses, even cowbell (to introduce "That 70s Night"), but the nine tracks, while starting well, cannot sustain the early energy. Still, an interesting take and certainly one to watch develop.
