"ShiHuangDi", the fifth album from Italian symphonic power metal band Thy Majestie, will undoubtedly woo fans of their previous historical concept albums back once again. Returning to their roots, this album has all of the elements and style displayed in previous albums such as Hastings 1066 and Jeanne D'Arc, but this time around focused on the life of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of unified China in 221 BC.

The listener will find a lot to absorb in these 11 tracks, including galloping beats and great guitar riffs in Harbinger and Ephemeral and songs with great melodies that are catchy and memorable. Lead, backing, and choir vocals are wonderfully done, and blended together with the instruments, the sound of the album is very full and epic.

We are treated to the track End of the Days, featuring the vocals of Fabio Lione, which matches perfectly with Alessio Taormina’s vocals, creating a catchy, anthemic and heavy song that helps bring the story near its end.

Thy Majestie has created another compilation of songs that tells a story in the style that they have mastered. Overall, this is a stellar album that was well worth the wait and will continue to be enjoyed many times over.
