Don’t let the label name scare you away, as this Chicago outfit’s debut owe more to the innocence of 70s hard rockers Triumph than anything remotely metal or satanic, just a good old fashion throwback. The vocals are in a slightly high, nasal twang, the guitar tones on opening ‘When the Lights Go Down’ are pitched even more lofty, so much so you have to listen closely, just to make sure they haven’t done an AC/DC and included bagpipes.

Admittedly, after nine songs, that whiny six-string tone gets a little grating, but doesn’t detract from some fun songs, at least for a certain aged demographic. Former(?) internationally known metal scribe Chris “Professor Black” Maycock is the man behind the mic and apparently played all the instruments as well. Apart from the 2:07 ‘Reminding You Of Me’ these are virtually stamped out at just over four minutes: no frills radio rockers from a bygone era. Standouts include a rollicking ‘One Thousand Nights’, the differentiated ‘Can You Hear Me’ and chugging ‘I Will Run’. The band has already done a quick run through the Northeast and been overseas so watch for them.
