I hear some A Perfect Circle, post-Theatre of Pain Motley Crue, post-Hysteria Def Leppard, Fozzy, Pillar, Slipknot, Saigon Kick, Circus of Power, Tesla, King's X (a tiny bit). . . Blacklist Regulars would be at home on mainstream Hard Rock channels and tours (they're on the road with Powerman 5000 in 2019, which is fitting), but they're not aimed at the Red Bull baseball cap Limp Bizkit bros or the Screamo angsty kids. The riffs chug and roll with heavy distortion, but as often as not, they get into danceable shuffles, more interested in moving your feet than your neck, brain, or heartstrings.
The first half of the album is much stronger than the second, bolstered by the shiny "I need a single" catchiness of "Falling from the Sun" and "Are We Just Dying."
