Well-riffed, guitar-driven straightforward bar band Hard Rock that doesn’t try to be anything else. Black Label Society, L.A.Guns, Sabbath, Skynyrd, Down, Pearl Jam. I don’t see “bar band” as a negative, by the way. Lots of big arena acts could learn a thing or two from Woodhawk. The demeanor isn’t deep or spacey, but also isn’t party-party and light; this is serious, stern-jawed Rock n’ Roll.

Woodhawk will give ya power chords to move things forward, but their main bread-and-butter riffs tend to be single-note, with active, independent basslines. They swerve smoothly from the fast lane to the slow lane, deftly mixing mellow and hard. “Our Greatest Weakness” showcases this, their greatest strength.
