Belgian’s Evil Invaders embrace, and combine well, all the elements of 80s speed metal and thrash, and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal twin guitar harmonies.

After two studio albums and two Eps, this live release captures their energy, tight musicianship, and technical ability. Opener ‘As Life Slowly Fades’ is full throttle Kreator, while ‘Pulses Of Pleasure’ is more in the spirit of Canada’s Exciter (whom they covered, ‘Violence & Force’), and the twin leads are a great break with melody. Video quality is solid, colors are sharp, picture is clean, camera shots vary in angels (wides, closeups), and the cuts shot to shot are not too quick. Stage is bare bones aside from the multi-bladed mic stands, and smoke pots. ‘Mental Penitentiary’ is great full on thrash material complete tempo breaks for the verses, pre solo, and lots of shredding. Keyboards slow down the energy to fit the tempo as the mic stand rotates for ‘Broken Dreams In Isolation’, still Joe’s vocals projects its snarl. Lots of sped up Maiden (Killers album), Angel Witch, in ‘Stairway To Insanity’, while six minutes ‘Among The Depths Of Sanity’ works between its dynamics, ominous break (with Mayhem like melody), and aggression. Fourteen songs (minus the intro and outro), plus a cover of the Venom classic ‘Witching Hour’. Mandatory metal from this genre to preserve its kind.
