Get yer fuzz out!
Black Keys, Clutch, White Stripes, Monster Magnet, Queens of the Stone Age, and maybe some STP. Opening track, Anabasis,” begins with clean guitar and quiet vocals that recall Glenn Danzig. This soon gives way to sludgy, psychedelic, Stoner fuzz Blues, and all thoughts of Danzig are expelled for good. The Heavy Eyes keep their sound and riffs straightforward, with the requisite wah and tremolo. They want you grooving along, whether you’re pressing the gas pedal on a desert highway with these tunes pumping from the car speakers, or you’re getting out of your seat to move and clap along.

There are a coupla fat, juicy sections that will just drip everywhere, especially that Humpty solo breakdown in “Hand of Bear.” “Made For the Age” is the obviously-catchy single-intended tune, and it works in that role, without compromising anything. Each of the songs are pretty distinctive unto themselves, which is a really excellent thing inside a genre that can get pretty soundalike and repetitive. “A Cat Named Haku” is another impressive one - - and of course, you can’t dislike a song named “God Damn Wolf Man.”
