World, meet Joshua Gerras, the singer/guitarist from Sorge. . . . your next Metal star. His tortured, wailing vocal delivery stands out over everything else on the 4 songs of this EP.

There are some moments of phat bass grooves, some nice little Doomy riffs, some cool guitar feedback effects, but this EP is really all about his voice. Glenn Danzig-meets-Jim Morrison-meets-Nick Cave-meets-Ian Astbury-meets Morrisey. Every cracked and dropped note engenders two reactions in the listener; first: “WTF?”. . . then: “That actually really, really works.”
If the live experience matches up to the recordings, this is the kind of performance that hangs backlit all over the microphone, with the first few rows watching transfixed.
It’s dangerous. It’s dark. It’s Rock n’ Roll. There’s a bit of sameness between the 4 tracks here. I’m looking forward to seeing what else Sorge can do on future releases.
