Eleventh album from NWOBHM legends, Praying Mantis has always been more melodic AOR rock after the debut "Time Tells No Lies". Brothers Tino (guitar, vocals) and Chris Troy on bass the only original members left, with Jaycee Cuijpers (who suitably sings in a Foreigner tribute band) since 2014. I mean just just listen to the album's first single 'Cry For The Nations', and especially that piano and vocal for 'Closer to Heaven', those harmonies, the guitars leads. And its fine, its all good they embrace the sounds of Journey, Survivor, Styx, to FM and Magnum.

'Ain't No Rock N Roll In Heaven' rocks a little more but not much to it at barely three minutes. 'Non Omnis Moriar' has those classic Mantis harmonies and guitars. 'Long Time Coming' is country flair rock, 'Wheels In Motion' is pretty light, 'Masquerade' guitars have a bit more edge with a stronger vocal too. Positive, words of reflection in 'Find Our Way Back Home'. Some "whoa whoas" in 'The Devil Never Changes'. Enjoyable, but kinda lighter compared to "Gravity", or "Legacy" which I really liked, and "Sanctuary" from 2009 that still had the melodies and hooks but bigger guitars.
