Finnish glam metal rockers fifth album, Reckless Love have an even more retro sound than the rest of the pack. While most of their peers (Crazy Lixx, Crashdiet, Dangerours Curves, Midnight City, Bloody Heels) recapture the 80s era sounds and style, RL take it to the next level. Check out the retro neon sign color computer graphic overloaded video for the title track 'Turborider'. Not only are those keyboards right out of the 80s, but the synthy effects are on the music and vocals.

"Tonight she's in cybernetic form, And the deadly wheels are turning, Now here comes Turbo Rider". Even on the band's Facebook page one tag is #synthwave. It all sounds over processed and unnatural. Still, you get a catchy chorus and solo out of it.
Dancing keys behind the melody for the catchy 'Eyes Of A Maniac', 'Outrun' could be right out of a movie soundtrack or TV show episode. 'Kids Of The Arcade' melody almost derivative from Olivia Newton John's Let's Get Physical, still fun. Wow, ok Ozzy's 'Bark At The Moon' we are going to tackle? They pull back on the effects and let the riff drive the song, solo is spot on, well done. Yup, these guys know how to play. 'Like A Cobra' is back to keys driving the beat, really light. Hey, bring back those guitars from the last song. 'For The Love of Good Times' another very AOR without any edge, and '09-89 Sparkle' is pop rock with lyrics delivered like a beach party song.
Out of the eleven songs not enough metal sunset strip edge guitars for my money. Title track, the Ozzy cover smokes and is almost out of place. I'm all about supporting these bands from the new generation, but bring the guitars next album, less artificial processed production and I'm on board, guys.
