SkullFist are a name I put amongst peers Striker, Enforcer, and Night Demon. Singer/guitarist Zach Slaughter handles both riffs and the leads, hopefully they add a second guitarist live to fill out the sound and give him room to do solos.
Title track opens the album more reserved, very melodic, lots of shredding in the solo. 'Long Live The Fist' is classic SkullFist in the steadfast drive, riffing, and bouncing bass. Minimalist riff on 'Crush, Kill, Destroy' in contrast to the busy focused lead work, tempo kicks up mid way. Brief acoustic piece seems unnecessary for 'Blackout'. 'Madman' slows it down with some higher vocals. Whammy bar action for the gallop to 'For The Last Time', 'Heavier Than Metal' gets the rerecording polish with the same arrangement, 'Warrior Of The North' wraps up eight songs and a total run time of thirty three minutes.
Kind of a short album given the length many are today releasing, but it works, songs get in and out, to the point. Enjoyable.
